About Me

Who Am I?

That’s a great question, mainly because I’ve been trying to figure that out myself, especially this past year (2018). For now, you can call me April.

I’ve had many adventures in my life, so I really shouldn’t complain … but I do. This past year has been quite devastating for me, from losing my best buddy Wally on February 17th, to receiving divorce papers and finding my future stability (the inevitable “rug”) pulled out from under me.

Much of this year I have felt like Alice In Wonderland, specifically the bits where she suddenly finds herself quickly growing small and falling down the rabbit hole. Yes, I realize, for her, they didn’t occur simultaneously, but it’s the best scenario I can give at this time.

My husband ex-husband (best get used to saying it) and I not only day-dreamed but actually planned and sought out boats, actually live aboard’s. We spoke of this dream less than six months ago. I received the divorce papers in late October.

Those few who actually do know me are well aware when I get something in my mind, I’m like a dog with a bone. So I figured, “why let this situation stop that dream?” Knowing that “rug” has now exposed my future is quite faulty, I realize to many how this probably seems not only quite stupid, but incredibly risky. Especially since my basic knowledge of boats is that a) they are supposed to float, b) sometimes they sink, tip over from waves, or even catch fire, and c) the acronym of boats is Break Out Another Thousand Sucker.

With all this said, I will repeat the thought in my head: “Why let this situation stop that dream?”

Well, this ‘dog with a bone’ has not only grabbed onto that thought and decided to run with it, but created a BIGGER vision of that dream Obtaining Big Dreams – Big Goals – Big Adventures by Creating Self-Sustainable Adventures by Going Green On Big Blue. It’s a by-product Be – Do – Have, which I’ll gladly get into that at another time.

I am hoping to make Based OA True Story a much more popular and affordable acronym for boats. Also, since I’m prone to big dreams, I’m going to identify as a Pirate until I successfully obtain a Captain’s License. Who knows if any of this will come true. Either way, no one can deny this is quite an adventure.

WELCOME ABOARD!

PS: HAPPY NEW YEAR and may 2019 be OUR best year yet!
