As stated in my last post, folks were coming to see the house last Saturday. It was two couples actually, who clearly knew each other. After walking around the property & throughout the house, and asking me a number of questions, they thanked me and walked out. All in all they spent maybe 40 minutes altogether.
I noticed that they were gathered outside talking after a few minutes. I didn’t think too much of it as I was just sitting down to breakfast. A friend had stopped by the night before, and I said jokingly, “Do ya think you could have made the (guest) bed more messily?” He replied, “Hey, I saw your bed so I wouldn’t be talking.” In all honesty, my bed was made near-to-perfection, mainly because I had slept on top of the covers.
We finished breakfast, so I gathered our dishes and put them in the sink to be washed. I grabbed the pans I had cooked our steak and eggs in and began running hot water over them. I glanced outside, and a bit shocked, they were still there. Since I was doing dishes I had a clear view of them outside the kitchen window.
I had finished the dishes and they were still there. I turned to my friend and said, “This house is sold. I’m going to find out for sure on Monday or Tuesday. More likely Tuesday since Monday is a Holiday, but this house is sold.” He looked at me and stated, “Let’s hope.”
I looked back out the window; they weren’t budging from their spot in the driveway. I turned my head toward him and demanded, “No, there’s no hoping about it. This is happening.”
Fast forward to today (Wednesday). I awoke a bit down that I hadn’t heard anything. Then I saw my bank account was in the red – WTF happened? I was in the black the day before, and was expecting a payment to come in, not a huge deduction! I immediately called my bank.
Long story short, the bank actually messed up and they’ll be adjusting my account by Friday, thank goodness. Needless to say my mood became a somewhat better.
After lunch, I decided I might as well try to get a chunk of items sold this weekend, so I hit Craigslist and wrote a Garage Sale/Moving ad. Within 30 minutes I began getting texts and phone calls. This is already off to a good start, and the sale doesn’t begin until Friday at 3PM.
Throughout the afternoon I noticed that my phone kept messing up. I finally restarted it around dinner time. When it came back on, I noticed an email in my spam folder, and immediately questioned, “That couldn’t be the realtor’s email, could it?” Sure enough it was! He had emailed be on Tuesday at 1PM… stating a deal had been made and we are closing on the 15th of February!
As of right now, I have 22 days to get everything sold, given away, thrown away, box up what I’m going to keep, and find a place to store my belonging and myself until I can figure out how to get to where my boat is. I have a feeling it’s all going to work out.
Glancing over the past month, it seems the “switch” began with my changing my mind and my attitude, making a decision, and taking action. Yet, with all that’s happened in the last few weeks, I can’t help but wonder if this is all because of Intuition, Intention, or both?
Either way, I am grateful… something I haven’t felt in quite a long time.
